Lots of water drinking. If really uncomfortable, 1/2 cap full of Miralax; I try to stay from laxatives because one can become.dependant on them. Stool softeners help. Only resorted to Miralax once; very gentle.
Lots of water is key.

Mix a clear high protein liquid with Jello and canned fruit. My home health care provider, I, and my nutritionist discovered this by accident. I had been to the ER 5 times in 5 years with blocked bowls. Have no problems if I eat this Jello, fruit, and high protein liquid. Your neurologist should know where to order the high protein liquid. I get mine from the VA.
