Constipation for me can be helped by diet and exercise. Things I would take to eliminate constipation would be changing your diet. Everyday I take a teaspoon of olive oil with every meal. I take a 1/4 teaspoon of black seed oil with every meal. With my first dose of medication I take a 1/4 cup of multi grain Cheerios with 6 mini squares of sugar less shredded wheat every day. Plain hummus 1 tablespoon with a salmon filled omelet and a Mandarin with all my supplements that are all anti inflammatory and my pain medication and a cup of water . water is what I drink 99.9 % of the time. Lunch is either chicken breast or salmon on a good high fiber slice of bread making a 1/2 sandwich . Wheat pasta ( cold) ) with peas or lima beans. Hummus for lunch is usually 4-5 tablespoons with a few whole wheat crackers. A Mandarin or 2 , 1/3 banana , and some avocado. Maybe a little homemade apple sauce. Water to drink. Medications throughout the day taken with a small amount of plain Cheerios with the unsweetened mini wheat. Dinner always before 7:30 is either chicken or salmon , the oils, peas and broccoli or lima beans. Mandarin or orange ,and blueberries. Eating on a schedule or as close as you can get will help your body to get into a circadian rhythm which will amount other things help with bowel movements. I do not consume sugar , cakes ,ice cream ect. My diet is pretty much as described. Many would say that sucks but for me it's all perspective. I have parkinsons but I also have pelvic floor disorder with severe tenemus. I also have been diagnosed with centralized pain disorder. For me I will do whatever is necessary not to experience any constipation , whatever ! The medications I take are ones that are known to cause constipation and my diet is the remedy for me. Additionally, I walk after every meal even though its really slow and difficult I make sure I do it. The walking for me helps everything move. Recently I had to fight a reoccurring fungle infection the medication for that is extremely fierce and I had to add 3 six ounce cups of prune juice to help keep stuff moving. If someone is starting of constipated I would try 1 cup if that doesn't help two and so fourth. I would also consider changing my diet to eliminate the constipation. I believe things like these mentioned above are real solutions that may work for you they have for me. You need to research what's going into your body keep a food diary for starters to make sure your getting enough soluble and insoluble fiber . Omega 3 would also compliment this approach. Best wishes !!
