Phil, we're in charge, ergo we get to make our personal choices. I always go for the quality over quantity, supremely confident in my choices, ignoring that they may fly in the face of logic. I see most of life in a light manner, particularly mine, very skilled in self-deprecating humor. Keep your individuality, as will I, mate. (Btw, I lived in Cambridge for a year and a half, training RAF pilots, also some time in the Great Yarmouth area, fun times). Cheers, Beau (C7)

Don’t you just get tired of being told to drink more water and exercise more! 😡

I'm acutely aware that I don't drink enough water, exercise, watch too much TV, eat too much sugar, don't say the right thing, cause people to worry about me, grow my hair too long / too short, choose the wrong clothes for the day, listen to the wrong music at the wrong time, listen to advice from Dr's all of a sudden when I have been told that by those closest to me for the last year or more..... I could go on, oh I have already ? !
I don't know about you but it would be really good to have some affirmation and encouragement once in a blue moon .......

Yes. I have a chronic pain problem from other causes. My Parkinsons specialist just advises to move. He doesn't say exercise; I had 10 sessions of physical therapy at home. I exercised my whole adult life. I said to the doctor that.it was all in vain. He responded no it wasn't. And. I said why do you say that. His reply was because you can stand straight.
Exercise is tricky because you can hurt yourself.
Do you. have someone to dance with; I don't anymore, but it is highly recommended for Parkinsons patients.
Tai Chi you can follow on dvds and. there are tapes for exercise to improve your balance.
But yes, I don't like to be preached to. I walk all over my house; I learned. to relax my body and no longer have a fear of falling. I did, but that went away. I shower myself and wash my hair. It is a little scary, but I tell myself put your big girl panties on and. get in the shower, wash your hair, moisturize your dry skin.
Don't tell me what to do.Figure out what is best. for you. Walking all over my big house, holding on to a wall, a sturdy piece of furniture, etc.
IN 2019, I had a traumatic fall down my stairs. It was dark; I wanted to get some cold water with ice. Down 13 hardwood steps; it was a fall that could have killed me.
No broken bones; just some big bruises. I sat up slowly, moved my head and neck, them my arms, then I pulled myself up using the stair banister, walked to the kitchen, got ice water and an ice pack for an area in the back of my left thigh which hurt. It was a big hematoma
Walked back up the stairs, got in bed and fell asleep. I still don't know if it was a Parkinsons symptom or just a random event.
The very next day, I called a stair lift company, had it installed and I use it. I do have a small seat in my. shower but felt I could slip off it so I got one of those anti slip mats, folded it to fit on the seat. I quickly wash my hair and myself, then hold onto a built in soap holder, pull myself and stand.under the water for a few seconds, wash my back and get out. It's a fast shower, not leisurely, but ok.
I have a beautiful jacuzzi for 2, but I can't get out of it. I'm not strong enough. So that how it goes. I don't drive because I think it would be irresponsible. I hate that. I have to rely on my daughter to drive me to doctor appointments, hairdresser, occasional lunch out.
She has a job and a teenager she is teaching to drive. But she makes appts for me because she knows her work schedule. Long answer. Do your own thing.
