Does Anyone Wake Up In The Middle Of The Night Because You Are Gasping For Air?

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have recently been waking up in the middle of the night, gasping for air. This is different from obstructive sleep apnea, which my husband uses a CPAP for his apnea. I saw some information online about central sleep apnea and how it could be caused by parkinson's. Anyone experience waking at night and gasping for air? Or have experience with central sleep apnea?

I have not experienced this. Do you have vivid dreams & kick & punch. You wouldn’t know but your husband certainly would. You don’t remember. REM Sleep Behavior Disorder could possibly have you in a really bad dream & wake up out of breath if you were running or etc.
But I am no doctor. I suggest going to your Neurologist & letting him know. He is the one who will know for sure. What a terrifying experience for you. See your doctor. You will be in my prayers.
God Bless You
