What Foods Are 'good For', Or 'bad For' Parkinson's - Dairy Products Like Ice Cream Or Alcohol? I Realize Most Fruits And Veg. Are Ok
Avoid white rice and wwhite bread,, trans fats, and high sugar contentt..
No I am saying that those are foods to avoid as they tend to cause weight gain with limited nutrition.
There is no specific diet for Parkinsons. Avoiding empty calories and nutrition such as white flour, white sugar, white ruce and lots of pasta do not help you. If a person is overweight, as the disease progresses, it will be more difficult to get around and more difficult for your caregiver to assist you. Staying active with some kind of exercise daily is important. I try to get in a pool about 3 times a week since it is easier to exercise in the water. I do exercises with Silver Sneakers at the YMCA a couple times a week. Good luck!
I had to curb my caffeine intake as it made me very jittery. I enjoy a good glass of white wine now and then too, but I have to remember when I take my medication for PD.
There is some evidence that consuming dairy products increases the risk of developing PD, particularly in men.
