I had the same issues for the past two months. I tried drinking more water, adding fiber to my diet, mirlax, lactulose tablets but nothing helped me. Instead I ended up taking castor oil once a week to relieve myself. I was so stressed out all the time. Then my daughter in law put me on liquid diet after another dose of castor oil that cleared my bowels. She started my day with a smoothies that has banana, coconut milk , chia seeds / flax seeds and frozen fruits like mixed berries, /summer fruits /exotic fruits. Lunch was delicious soup of your vegetable choice like carrots and potato soup served with seeded bread or roll and dinner with a different type of soup like lentil sweet potato soup. I had snacks like cashews pistachios dates etc. By day 3 my constipation issues were resolved with opening bowels almost every day.
You can add a bowl of rice with lentils or chicken here and there during the week and also I added pizza slice twice when I was out and I needed some solid food for my medication not to bother me. I hope this helps. Please give a go. I suffered a lot with this issue which led non absorption of carbidopa and levadopa that resulted in severe off time symptoms that harrowed my body day and night. I felt there is nothing anyone could do but here I am sharing my experience ❤️
