Have you had Covid in the past year? The drug they give you to treat it (Paxlovid) can cause a bad taste in the mouth. From drugs.com: "The Paxlovid side effect of bad taste or change in taste (dysgeusia) is the most common side effect, it is often described as a metallic taste or bitter taste and usually goes when you have finished the course. If you get this side effect, you may want to try gum, mints, or mouthwash for temporary relief."
