Could It Be Possible That Carbidopa Levodopa Is Causing Some Of The Problems I’m Having With Taste Smell And My Burning Mouth Syndrome.?
I read something from the Mayo Clinic regarding just such a thing.
I’ve had Covid 3 times but never had paxlovid…and my Covid had really no symptoms were involving taste and/or smell..but it’s always good to hear and and all new info..thanks
Have you had Covid in the past year? The drug they give you to treat it (Paxlovid) can cause a bad taste in the mouth. From drugs.com: "The Paxlovid side effect of bad taste or change in taste (dysgeusia) is the most common side effect, it is often described as a metallic taste or bitter taste and usually goes when you have finished the course. If you get this side effect, you may want to try gum, mints, or mouthwash for temporary relief."
Me 2. Only positive results.........Q
I am sorry to hear about these issues with Carbidopa. I have only had positive results.

Yes, it is possible. Carbidopa/Levodopa can cause changes in the sense of taste and smell as side effects. Burning mouth syndrome could also be related, though it’s less commonly reported. If these symptoms are worsening or concerning, it’s important to discuss them with your doctor to explore potential causes and Show Full Answer
