Persecutory Delusions In Parkinsons

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭
Moncks Corner, SC

My husband has been having Persecutory Delusions in hospital and will be released today. He’s combative with staff and family. I’m hoping someone can suggest best placement (psych ward, etc?) where he can get help. Thank you, Jean Smith

The best advice is above...discuss with his personal physician or his neurologist as to what your options are...also consult with your family and close friends to see what they would like to happen...🤠

Jean, I'm sorry to hear about your husband's struggles with persecutory delusions. Here are some steps you can consider:

- Consult with Healthcare Providers: Speak with his neurologist or psychiatrist about his symptoms. They can provide guidance on the best course of action and potential treatment options.
- Psychiatric Evaluation: A psychiatric ward or specialized facility may be necessary if his delusions are severe and he poses a risk to himself or others.
- Medication Review: His healthcare provider might need to adjust his medications to better manage his symptoms.
- Supportive Environment: Ensure he is in a safe and supportive environment, whether at home with professional care or in a specialized facility.

It's crucial to discuss these options with his healthcare team to determine the best placement for his needs.
