To help prevent constipation, consider the following tips:

- Dietary Fiber: Eat plenty of high-fiber foods such as vegetables, dried or fresh fruits with the peels, legumes (peas or beans), some nuts (almonds and pistachios), and whole-grain products. Switching from white bread to whole-grain bread, white rice to brown rice, and regular pasta to whole-grain pasta can also help.
- Hydration: Drink six to eight 8-ounce glasses of water every day.
- Warm Beverages: Drinking warm beverages in the morning can help stimulate the bowels.

These steps can help manage constipation, which is a common side effect of many Parkinson’s medications.
