clinical trial with results

"As of May 14, 2024, prasinezumab is still in clinical trials, which are being conducted by Roche at over 120 sites in North America and Europe and are expected to run through 2024. The trials include a Phase 2b PADOVA study and a long-term extension of the Phase 2 PASADENA study. The PASADENA trial enrolled 316 participants in the U.S. and Europe to evaluate the safety and efficacy of prasinezumab in people with early-stage Parkinson's disease"
"Prasinezumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that binds to aggregated alpha-synuclein, a protein associated with Parkinson's disease. It's designed to block the cell-to-cell transmission of pathogenic forms of alpha-synuclein, which could potentially slow or stop the progression of the disease. Some findings suggest that prasinezumab may be more effective in slowing motor progression in patients with rapidly progressing Parkinson's disease. In one study, patients who received prasinezumab had better motor function and no relevant adverse effects one year after starting it."
The trial is ongoing but not recruiting at this time

How disappointing. The initial reports were much more positive.
Checked with a Parkinson site and learned a lot.
