I take 8mg of ropinirole in the morning. Used to take at bedtime but had real issues with RLS and neurologist told me to take in morning instead. Made a real difference for good.

Normally you don't need much dopamine while sleeping. That's why the RLS dosage for restless legs syndrome while sleeping is so low (0.25mg). But if you're taking higher dosages for leg movements during the day, (8mg extended release or multiple dosages 3 x 2mg etc) you should take it 1st thing in the morning and space it out so the last is several hours before bedtime, but covers you so you don't have restless legs trying to go to sleep!!

Ropinirol increases the amount of dopamine in your brain. PD patients often take a long acting dopamine at bedtime to help relieve their sleep issues. If your PD symptoms are helped with it at night, by all means take a dose .

For RLS Ropinirol is taken about 1 hr before gong to sleep. However, the normal dose for RLS is only 0.25mg

If your doctor has you taking 2mg 3x/day he's no longer treating you just for RLS. If you have been diagnosed with PD, Ropinirol is sometimes used as a 1st line medication to boost dopamine levels and reduce PD symptoms. If it's the only medication you're taking
I might suggest you space the 3 doses out across your awake time. There should be plenty left in your system at night to control the RLS.
You might also check with your doctor about that, to be sure you understand your diagnosis. Also, there is an extended release version that reduces the number is times you're taking pills.
