PDers live about an average life, but the same is not true of those with MSA. Heart arrhythmias are common in MSA, and often lead to sudden death; I have had too many close calls when I was alone and even though I had no idea how sick I was I somehow kept finding I was in Intensive Care. So if you are finding heart issues are common diagnoses it might be prudent to ask for a reevaluation of your symptoms. PD was my first diagnosis but with a question mark. I saw 4 movement specialists and they all diagnosed MSAc. Second and even third opinions never hurt when dealing with complex diseases, including PD. (Of course add in a couple of small strokes….) And advocate for yourselves. Don’t let an ER doctor tell you there’s nothing wrong when you have abnormal pain, or trouble breathing, chest pain etc. and don’t say yes when a doctor tells you your diagnosis is Multiple Sclerosis when you have MSA; remind him what MSA stands for. If he doesn’t know he’s not alone, but make sure YOU know what you have and keep information with you if you have any of the Parkinsonisms list. Forgive me but too often we end up in the hospital and are put on schedules according to hospital protocols instead of the schedule our meds are prescribed; it’s okay to insist on appropriate treatment; you are all worth proper care. My time is up; I yield the floor.

Parkinson’s does sometimes lower your blood pressure. This can cause dizziness. Carbidoda/Levadopa can also cause dizziness.

Parkinson’s can also heart rate variability. (HRV) It can be too fast or too slow.

You should discuss these symptoms with your Neurologist.

I have Afib and Sick Sinus Syndrome with bradycardia (heartbeat too slow) and tachycardia (too fast) mine was 162 down to 28 pulse. Now I have a pacemaker. Parkinson’s can affect every muscle including the heart, but not every seemingly heart related symptom is actually heart related. Mine are partially caused by respiratory failure. Two people may have the same symptoms by description but totally different causes for symptoms. Only a doctor can make the call.

I have a pacemaker for CHRONIC AFIB AND CHF for years but some of the symptoms seem to have gotten worse recently I'm in touch with my cardiologist as I'm recently been put on intravenous keflex and may be having a reaction with my meds
