I sgree. The LSVT program is fantastic. In restaurants I lean on the table to get up while my wife uses her weight to stabilize the table.

My husband just grabs hold of the table. When he took LSVT-Big therapy, they worked on his 'sit to stand' exercises. He hasn't been good about continuing them, but they really do make a difference.

I also did the LSVT program and continue to do these exercises today.

In the meantime check with the restaurant to see what they can do for you before you sit down. Sometimes it’s a matter of sitting higher. He can also improve his ability to get up by getting his upper body weight out over his feet prior to standing.
