Hi all,
As I read the posts here is what I have done for my fiancé.

1. satin sheets make for very easy turning in bed and sliding to get out of bed
2. I have a bedrail that you hold on to and helps you to get up also to not fall out
3. there is a small tool you can carry as someone said to get out of the car
4. building your upper arm strength can help to get you out of low seats
5. bring a seat cushion with you I do this for my mom and it rotates--so I can turn her they
sell them for getting out of cars as well it helps to pivot your body
6. ask for help have them steady you from behind with your 2 hands firmly placed on a firm surface
either a steady table or the seat of a chair
7. cars when possible get an suv if you can trade in or up even a used one increase tire size and that also lifts the car higher.
8. same with toilet seats they are the worst to get up from, I have a toilet seat lifter at home and installed a grab bar...not for him w his PD, but for me w my bad knees I suffered from the low chairs and cars too!

God Bless Each and Every One of You....lisa

I got one of those handles you can hook on the car to hold onto & help you get up easier. they can be carried with you as they aren't permanently affixed.

Yes, I've been there. Getting stuck at the kitchen table is the WORST! Be careful when using tables to push up on (especially, in restaurants). Someone should be counter-balancing your weight on the other side! (I learned that from a waitress, when I was at the Mayo Clinic in Florida).

It's all about staying mobile. I'm one to talk I should take my own advice yet I forget. If we don't use it we lose it. When on a social outing if I remember I stand up and walk around a bit and if I'm at a friend's house I even stretch when I remember to. I forget a lot, so yep I get stuck. ✌🏻

Try and put your arms out straight in frontt of you and then bring them both down and you should feel your bottom rise up
