Mucuna Pruriens

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭
Stoke-on-Trent, UK

Anyone have any personal experience using this (Mucuna Pruriens) for Parkinson's, either with or instead of pharmaceutical L-Dopa? I'm not looking for more webpages or science articles at this point...thanks!

Herbal supplements aren't regulated, so you don't actually know how much dopamine you are getting with them or the purity of the product. I certainly wouldn't replace c/l with a supplement. If you do take it, let your doctors know. Too much dopamine can cause issues.

Updating here...my trial of Mucuna is officially over. A single capsule gave four hours of "nausea". I'm using quotes because nausea doesn't quite do it justice. It was like a Family Guy sketch...
