What Are The Downsides Of Increasing Your Medication To Overcome Tremors?
I take cloisone 250/25 1tablet every 4 hours. Lately the tremors have become bothersome around the 3 hour mark and if I don’t get the middle of the night dose, morning movement is a challenge. Is another increase to the cloisone the best move or should the Dr add another med for tremors?
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - reducing or eliminating tremors is what c/l does best. My husband has no tremors at all when he takes his pills. It also helps with walking. My husband was falling pretty often on our walks before he started taking carbidopa. I have read that a lot of neurologists prescribe c/l to confirm a Parkinson's diagnosis. If the symptoms improve, then lack of dopamine is the problem. If they don't, they may need to look at other causes of the symptoms. That's what happened with Jim, my HWP.
Evan2- I have been taking c/j for approximately 8 years. Yes it definitely helps!
Thank you both. I was advised to start on C/L as soon as symptoms start impacting my quality of life. If these tremors continue, I guess I'll be taking it soon. I was just diagnosed 3 months ago. Thought I'd be able to go way longer without meds as my other symptoms are minor. Guess not. 🤬
I can't answer your question but you may have answered mine. I've been holding off on taking C/L since being diagnosed 3 months ago but my tremors (my only symptom of significance so far) are getting worse. It seems C/L helps you with tremors? How long have you been taking it?
Can DBS Surgery Help You With Both Essential Tremors And Parkinson's?
This May Be Common, But I Can Be Totally Normal With No Tremors, Etc But Almost Daily, Either At My 10 Am Or 2 Am Dose Of Sinemet.
