Is Lower Back And Leg Pain One Of The Symptoms Of PD?

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭
San Diego/HillCrest, CA

My husband is in stage 4 Parkinson’s. He has chronic lower back and leg pain, most severe in the morning and at night. I read that there are drugs that can relieve the pain and won’t interfere with his meds. How can I find answers?

I was told Parkinson can cause your joints and muscles to ache. Exercise, as you may already know, is important with Parkinson. If you can’t do a lot, get some stretching exercises which are important know matter what type of exercise.

An orthopedist should take x-rays to see if he has any compressed discs. Those can cause back pain and sciatica (pain down the leg).
