As slow as I try to eat and chew my food. I too often end up with almost a choking issue. Especially if someone interrupts me when I'm having a meal. Although it will happen even when I'm alone. The food comes right back up and it's not improving its progressing. I don't think it even makes it down into my stomach. Frustrated. That plus the shaking body jerks and balance issue.
Voice class is a must. Also there is a program that focuses on strengthening your swallowing muscles to the use of a simple device for exercise. Unfortunately I got mine through the veterans administration but I’m sure it’s available on the open market and possibly even a program offered by a physical therapy organization.
