Do PD Patients Have Swilling Problems And Verbal Stuttering Issues????
As slow as I try to eat and chew my food. I too often end up with almost a choking issue. Especially if someone interrupts me when I'm having a meal. Although it will happen even when I'm alone. The food comes right back up and it's not improving its progressing. I don't think it even makes it down into my stomach. Frustrated. That plus the shaking body jerks and balance issue.
I take Prevacid in the morning and eat slow but I have times when swallowing becomes difficult. I don't like the fact that I take so many medications, but they help me function. I have tried several anti-acids with my primary doctors help to find one I could take with the other meds I'm taking.
Did you try cutting into smaller portions, Also you could try baby food. You have to do what you have to do
Speech therapy did wonders for me from having a hard time swallowing and constantly choking on both fluids and food

I would with your doc right away because if the food isn’t even making it to your stomach that may be something completely different. Does anyone else in your support group have any suggestions? Let me know I’m starting to have some choking symptom beginnings. Have a good one!
