I was told to take my meds with fizzy drinks (non sugar) mineral water or diet sodas as it speeds up absorption. I always have 3-4 pieces of fruit for lunch and i have blueberries, sultanas and cranberries mixed into my breakfast whether oatmeal or cereal with greek yoghurt. Also helps with other gut issues.

I have always heard NOT to take with protein. Maybe I misunderstood Mcrash. Maybe you meant by "timing with protein" you meant timing with protein that you don't eat protein for a hour.
