No Driving Problems

I experience NO problems while driving at all. I drive "alot", days, nights, out-of-town whatever. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's approx 3 years ago. The ONLY problem I encounter is slight unbalance while walking, enough to need a walking cane to insure my safety. I'm wondering if anyone has driving problems, while having been diagnosed 3 or 4 years ago.

I've noticed that my Concentration while driving isn't as good as it use to before being diagnosed with PD.

Hi Kathie,. I am exactly the same I was diagnosed 2007 and I had the same problem so I stopped driving the really long drives. I drive everywhere else though . I love driving so I would be lost if the DVLA said I couldn't drive anymore. I am waiting for them to renew my license as we speak. This is the bit I don't like.
Best wishes. Sharon

I relate to the person who says he drives alot without problems. Iove to drive...period ! Specially out of town, cuz in town, ppl are always in a hurry. No one drives the speed limit. Out of town, In the country, is so relaxing even at speeds of 75- 80 mph. Like him/her the only problem I have is a little off balance enough to need a cane. But even at that, I enjoy walking, go places, yet I tire easily. I love life, my " GOD ", my wife, my kids, my grandkids my great granddaughter,my sisters, my friends. Enjoy so much conversing, even though I struggle with my speech. I could ramble on and on about life and it's experiences. I better cut this short. will write more later....BYE for now !

I have driving problems. I was diagnosed seven years ago. Initially I had trouble with falling asleep suddenly, mostly at stop signs and traffic lights. I just needed more sleep I now have trouble with my eyes suddenly closing shut and staying shut. I have gotten botox injections into my eye lids which have helped tremendously. I have gotten used to my wife driving me to dr. apts and to therapy sessions. Still, I miss the freedom of driving.
