Forgetting Meds.

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

I have problem of leaving the house and forgetting to bring my meds. I tried leaving some in my car but my wife's car goes in the garage and mine stays out. The meds are exposed to either freezing in the winter or high temperatures in the summer. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have a small mint tin that fits in my pocket. I put the entire day's pills in it. This also helps if I'm not sure whether I took my last dose or not, I just count how many are left. I also carry another mint tin with 3 day's doses in case of blizzard or other reason to stay overnight somewhere. It goes in my purse, but could go in a pocket, too. If I put a bit of that cotton from the top of a pill jar on top, the pills don't rattle around or break.

I don't know if this will help but this is what I do.

I have a pill dispenser that has morning ,lunch, afternoon, dinner and bed. Every morning when I wake up I put my medication in the pill dispenser for the day. I have an alarm set on my phone to let me know when to take it. I also have an empty pill bottle that has my name on it and one of the prescriptions that I set to the side of the pill dispenser. When we're deciding to go out the 1st thing I do is I dump how many doses I think I'm gonna need if we're gonna be out for 6 hours then I'll have two doses That I load into the empty pill bottle. IWhich only Takes a second. it's become a routine that when we leave the house We will make sure we have the pill bottle, a drink, my cell phone and anything else that we may need. It's actually become a habit and it's so easy just to dump the dosages in the pill bottle and have them with me And go.
