When Did You Know You Needed To Give Up Driving?
It’s so hard for us to have to give up our independence. Parkinson’s sure is not kind to us. Seems like we take one step forward and four steps backwards. Now that my meds seem to be helping I feel safe trying to drive but now it’s cold and snowing so I’m not going to because I am afraid 😱 of falling or getting stuck in the snow ⛄️ and I would not be able to walk to get help. I’m hoping my meds keep working and in the spring I can drive good luck have a good day

Thanks Sherry. I always thought that I would probably know when it’s time to give it up. I think I’m getting close to it. That’s why I’m thinking about what other people did, fortunately, all the problems with numbness and tremors are the left side. It doesn’t affect my driving foot.
I haven’t driven in about eight months as my leg reflexes were not good I was not able to lift my leg fast enough to respond if I needed to stop quickly now that my medication has been increased I am beginning to feel better and am able to respond quicker so I hope to be able to drive again. I believe you will know when you feel you can no longer drive if you stop driving for a while you can always start when you feel ready. I kept my car and my license up to date.
