What Does Everyone Do To Stay Active If It Is Very Difficult To Do Things? Bad Balance And Terrible Back Pain! Affects How I Walk.

Hi Linda, I don’t do any specific exercises as I get plenty caring for my handicapped husband. I was diagnosed July 2023. I do use my four wheel walker several times aday. I race thru the house and sing, loudly! Not pretty, but makes me feel better. Can’t carry a tune! Dogs not happy! My legs and lower back only hurt on left side. I use two microwave pads and the heat really helps. One on my icy feet and one on my back. Maybe you should get a second opinion. My neurologist diagnosed my PD on my first visit. No tests other than his exam. I try to time my meds before going in an OFF time. I’m trying hard to live with this. My husband needs me!
My wife just started Rock Steady Boxing. They work with everybody, at your pace. It is not just boxing, they set up around 10 stations. They have a section that works on dexterity , they have stationary bikes and some other equipment. You rotate from station to station, with lots of volunteers at each station. Most places are probably similar, but this place is new and build just for this. Good luck to you.
Yes...My MDS said when I told him exactly that, "Welcome to Parkinson's disease." Hugs, AnneKristine 🩷
