Hi Maria! I have had both knees replaced, after I was diagnosed with Parkinson's, too Yes, I can understand your husband's initial fear about his knee caps. My first knee cap, my husband was alive, & he pampered me. My 2nd knee cap replacement was after his death, & my daughter was not as sweet. She has made me do things that my husband let slide. Today, after 2 knee replacements & my stroke, I have her to thank for me walking unimpeded. I wonder how it would be if my husband was still alive? I believe he would be happy pushing me around in my wheelchair, because that's the way he was, happy just being with me. Hugs, AnneKristine 🩷
Anesthesia can have a dramatic effect on PD patients. This should be carefully considered prior to any surgery. Unfortunately this is not explained to Parkinson’s patients. They end up finding this out themselves.
