In Recent Months I've Started Walking In A Therapy Pool Instead Of The Walking Track. Has Anyone Else Done The Same & Benefited From It?
I had a friend with bad knees who did a lot of her marathon training in a pool. It is less stressful on the joints, but provides a good workout.
You're right about the choice & freedom with walking Phil but there's a lot to be said for popping into a heated pool all year round (as against going walking with thousands of flies, which is what I have where I live in Australia ๐คฃ). I'm going to do both for a while & compare results on my watch.
I'm looking forward to trying to do some "water walking". ๐ถ๐ป
It's a safe way to exercise: You can't fall down when you walk in water!๐
I've never considered the falling down angle Rachel. Splendid point!!!
I did water aerobics when I was pregnant. The principle is resitance excersize. It included walking in the pool. I found it very beneficial and cannot see why it would not be excellent for PD. If there was a facility for that nearby, I would definitely do it again!!
I Had BDS In Dec And Still Not At Baseline. I Have Difficulty Walking, Talking And Expressing Myself. None Of These Happened Before The DBS
Is Muscle Fatigue A Symptom Of PD?
For Those That Had DBS, Were Your Outcome As Expected Or Was There A Surprise?
