Myasthenia Gravis entered my brain in '78, then PD about '04. My commitment #1 is laughter. Easy? NO! Yet, the best decision!!

I also have short term memory loss. I have had to ask people to please don't say I already told you that or we already talked about that to please just tell me again because I feel really bad that I don't remember. I just feel better if they just tell me it again instead of reminding me that we had already talked about something.

Hi Mark and welcome to our team.. I think that you will find this site quite helpful and I’ll go ahead and give you what information I know. I’m having the same problems as you and it’s my understanding that just the aging process as you get older, short-term memory gets worse, long memory goes on for a while. Compound that with the cognitive and memory problems of Parkinson’s and we don’t have a real good chance, remembering things. An example is my wife and I want to see the newest top gun movie and then sometime later I was by myself and saw it on Netflix And watched it again and told Jane it was really good. She looked at me and said we went to the movies to see it. I didn’t remember one thing about it, which is not a good sign and you’ve probably experienced that same situation. Getting older and having Parkinson’s can be very frustrating because I go through the same thing with my wife as not remembering things that she asks me. I’ve got a call into my movement disorder. Neurologist who is treating my Parkinson’s with the question of is there anything I can do about my memory. I hope to hear back from him this week and if I do, I will try to give you the information. I dictated this so I’m sure there’s errors in it.
