Talk to her neurologist. There are meds that can help with the hallucinations, if they are bad. She may need an adjustment of her current meds if they are making her sleep all the time.

Mum has been stubborn all the way through and it's that that's kept her going. It's only been the last 2 years that she has really deteriorated and had to move to a care home . The last month has seen a huge progression of being unresponsive, sleepy, delusional, hallucinating. It's heartbreaking to see my mum like this

It sounds like your mum is experiencing some challenging symptoms related to Parkinson's disease. Here are some key points from my knowledge base that might help:

- Hallucinations and Delusions: These are common in Parkinson's disease, affecting 20-40% of individuals. Hallucinations involve sensing things that aren't there, while delusions are persistent, illogical thoughts not based in reality.
- Sleepiness and Unresponsiveness: Fatigue can be a constant issue for those with Parkinson's, sometimes making them very sleepy and unresponsive for extended periods.

Managing Hallucinations and Delusions:
- Recognize the Symptoms: Hallucinations can be subtle, like seeing cats in peripheral vision, or more intense, like believing you're in a different place.
- Impact on Behavior: Delusions can lead to anxiety, agitation, and unsafe behavior, such as refusing to eat or trying to put things in outlets.

Safety Precautions:
- Monitor Behavior: Keep an eye on her actions to prevent any dangerous situations.
- Seek Medical Advice: Consult her healthcare provider to discuss these symptoms and explore potential adjustments to her treatment plan.

It's important to stay vigilant and supportive during these episodes. If you need more detailed advice, consider reaching out to a healthcare professional.
