Thank you for replying. Yes it is because of Parkinson. My husband has had passing out off and on for the past twenty years but now more often. The Drs don't offer any answers as he doesn't take much medicine to adjust .Just to make sure he wiggles legs and feet before standing up to get blood flowing. He's had pk for 30 yrs and I think has experienced every symptom there is. The one thing that was the most important in all the yrs was keep moving no matter how hard. Every person will experience pk different. We wish you all the best.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, I have been searching for answers to this for a long time. Been happening to me for > 4 yrs before my PD dx. Had a cardiac work-up (lup monitor just replaced yesterday) but no firm answers as to why. Dr finally decided the PD was doing it. Just dx last month! Good luck on our journey.

If a person with Parkinson's disease experiences lightheadedness or passes out due to a drop in blood pressure, here are some steps to consider:

1. Consult Your Doctor: Speak to your healthcare provider about these symptoms. They can assess your medications and their dosages, as some Parkinson's medications may affect blood pressure.

2. Medication Review: Your doctor can review your medications to see if adjustments are needed. Higher doses of [[treatment:levodopa/carbidopa:55d534f51fcaa397470006dd]], for instance, have been associated with increased falls and blood pressure issues.

3. Home Adaptations: Make changes to the home to prevent falls, such as:
- Removing tripping hazards like throw rugs.
- Adding grab bars in the bathroom.
- Ensuring bright lighting throughout the house.
- Adding bright tape to the edge of steps.
- Clearing clutter from walking paths.

4. Exercise Programs: Follow an exercise program to improve balance and gait, which can help reduce the risk of falls.

5. Immediate Actions: If dizziness occurs, sit or lie down immediately to prevent a fall. Stand up slowly and hold onto something stable until the dizziness passes.

Always consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice and before making any changes to your treatment or home environment.
