Does Anyone Have A Solution To Alleviate Excess Mucus In Your Throat?

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭
Boston, MA

My husband has been struggling with this, especially after meals and at night. He was diagnosed with PD in 2021. Has anyone found anything that helps with this issue? I bought an elevated wedge to put under his pillow, which helps somewhat.

The meds my husband is on for drooling is glycopyrrol . The Botox in the saliva glands helps a lot too. Hope you can find something that works for your husband

- Reduce Distractions: Minimize conversations and other distractions during mealtimes to focus on swallowing.
- Small Sips and Bites: Take small sips of drinks and small bites of food to make swallowing easier.

If these tips don't help, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice.

Thanks so much, Arnella! We will ask my husband’s doctor about both the glycopyrrol and the Botox treatments. Enjoy the rest of your weekend 🌺🤗
