I am also battling with weight gain. My primary doctor told me high protein and low carbohydrates. My weight stayed the same. Everything I read about a Parkinsons diet says fruits and vegetables including carbohydrates, with low protein.
I just wrote to my neurologist regarding my medication, since I gained 10 pounds on it. And asked if she can recommend a diet that can help me.
Don't be afraid to ask your neurologist for help.

It's important to note that no diet can cure Parkinson's disease. While certain dietary guidelines can help manage symptoms and improve overall health, they are not a substitute for clinically proven Parkinson’s drug therapies. Here are some key points to consider:

- Consult Your Doctor: Always consult your doctor before making significant changes to your diet.
- Balanced Nutrition: A balanced diet can help maintain a healthy weight and lower the risk of other chronic conditions.
- Protein Timing: If you are taking [[treatment:Levodopa/Carbidopa:55d534f51fcaa397470006dd]], time your intake of protein-rich foods to avoid diminishing the medication's effects.
- Nutrient-Rich Foods: Focus on foods high in antioxidants, phytochemicals, and Omega-3 fatty acids, which may offer neuroprotective benefits.
- Hydration and Fiber: Drink plenty of water and eat high-fiber foods to prevent constipation, a common side effect of Parkinson’s medications.

Always prioritize a balanced, nutritious diet and consult healthcare professionals for personalized advice.
