Vitamin D...little Blue Suckers...

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

Is anyone else on these (see pic)?

Fultium vitamin D capsules; AKA The Slipperiest Pill In The Universe In The Toughest Metal Foil In The Universe. I get 56 of these every two months.

I'm lucky if I get to take half of them. The rest are glaring at me from under the sofa. I hear them muttering...they're coming for me, I'm sure of it! If I die of a vitamin D overdose - don't believe it! It's the little Blue Meanies I tell ya!

Nigel2...HAPPY BIRTHDAY... Nigel2 I probably shouldn't ask but what BIRTHDAY are you celebrating...regarding your Vitamin D difficulties...I might suggest that you push them out into a bowl or cup... then take a tablespoon with applesauce or whatever you like that you can use to help swallow those difficult little blue "pills"...I use this method with all my pills... it works...let me know how it goes...and again HAPPY BIRTHDAY...🤠

I find the phrase “I have Parkinson’s” opens many doors. People you don’t talk to directly, don’t care.

I know it can make it difficult for my husband to dispense his pills but I generally take the ones that are in the foil out in advance and I don't have Parkinson's and any of the associated symptoms although I suppose my dexterity is not what it once was but I admit that it is not that easy for me to get them out of those packets out of those units either

It's probably some sort of security/safety issue...no one can swap or contaminate the tablets I guess...but I can't believe that's sufficiently prevalent to justify the difficulty it causes us (and I'm sure there must be other conditions) and the sheer volume of waste it generates.

In fact it seems someone is hellbent on putting more and more barriers between me and my pills. I'm sure there never used to be the plastic seal on both ends of the boxes of pills I get. Some are perforated, but some are not, meaning I either have to just destroy the box completely, or use a sharp knife to slit it...again, not easy with weak, shaky or non- responsive hands...
