As I understand it, vitamins don't help treat the disease, but supplementation is very important to replace vitamins depeted by the disease or the drugs. B12 is a great example of one that should be given. My mom gets a multi, B12, C, D, and calcium. I also give her a probiotic daily to try to build up her gut health to help prevent UTI's. Sauer kraut, especially raw, is also great for that.

Vitamin D can play a role in managing Parkinson's disease (PD). Here are some key points from the knowledge base:

- Essential Nutrient: Vitamin D is crucial for muscle movement, nerve signaling, and immune function.
- Sources: It can be obtained from foods like beef liver, fortified cereal, fish (salmon, sardines, swordfish, cod liver oil), egg yolks, fortified milk, and orange juice. Sun exposure also helps produce vitamin D3.
- Deficiency in PD: People with Parkinson's often have lower vitamin D levels, possibly due to reduced outdoor activity.
- Potential Benefits: Adequate vitamin D levels may affect nonmotor symptoms like verbal fluency, memory, mood, and smell impairment. It may also be associated with motor symptoms.

Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any supplementation.

Yes they do help...I work out very aggressively in the gym and they do help...they won't make the pain disappear completly but they do help.
