Does Anyone Have Experience With "The U-Step II Neuro" Neurological Walker Designed For Those Of Us Who Have Suffered Many Major Falls.
I used one when I worked with PT students who specialize in neurological physical therapy. Their excellent head instructor is also my friend . For this last year she did not allow me to work with her students. She smiled she thought I was too unstable, which was putting it mildly. She saw what I couldn’t; I couldn’t walk well and I was hallucinating and my speech was slurred. But I had several opportunities in the ; what we were talking about?’ My experiences were always good.
Yes, my husband got one last year. It has proved very helpful. It the opposite of a standard walker in that he has to release the brakes to move. This keeps the walker from moving away from him, it only moves when he wants it too. Really helpful too when walking down a ramp that's not flat. It has a seat so when his legs get tired he just sits down to rest. It folds for travel & I lift it in and out of the car, pretty easy to handle. There are aids that can be added as needed, such as a light beam that triggers the brain to help a person take bigger steps. Also anadapter that makes a noise if a person freezes, this triggers the brain & they are able to walk again. We don't need these yet, but if needed can be purchased and added on.
Hope this is helpful.
