Thank you for the input. I talked at length with my neurologist and we weighed all the options and came to the same conclusion...do it now... I'm in good shape and while DBS doesn't cure PD it does present a better quality of life.

There is absolutely no question as to whether to go for DBS or not. Do it!
Notes:
It is reversible
It is not a cure all
The pros outweigh the cons
The sooner the better. I have had the surgery for 3 years now and would do it again in an instant if necessary.
Talk to your Dr and clarify what it will do for you. I cannot encourage you enough!!!

I appreciate the clarity you provided. It's sounds like the positives outweighed the balance issue. Thank you!

DBS eliminated my tremors, allowed me to cut down on the medication and generally improved my mood. I did notice a slight problem with balance though

Dick,
What did DBS change for you? Reduced medication...temors decreased..... etc..
