My husband has been on Nuplazid for at least 5 years or so. It stopped the night time hallucinations in its track....until recently. Now he sees people and animals all the time. In the backyard, crowds of people in the livingroom and even in the bathroom. Most of the time, he realizes they are just visions. A few days ago however, he got up at 5 a.m. and called 911 to tell them two men broke into our house (all doors have deadbolts) and stole all his money from his safe and they were still on the property. Luckily, I woke up to hear some of the conversation and was able to convince the 911 operator and my husband that NONE of that was happening. So, I'm guessing Nuplazid's effectiveness has pretty much been used up. (We did, however, just start Gocovri which I now realize actually could cause hallucinations.). Awaiting a call back from his neurologist.

Seroquell has helped my husband. Going to start him on new drug, Nuplazid, low dose. We tried 34 mgs and that was way too much for him. Insurance approved it. Very expensive. Drug company helped me get grant money to cover the $100 a month copay. Any one else have experience with this relatively new drug?
