Is it that surprising? Vitamin D is made naturally in humans by sunlight on skin.
People with Parkinsons don't get out as much.
Some meds for Parkinsons increase the risk of skin cancer or bad sunburn.
So can we consider Parkinsons may be the cause of the low vitamin D, not the other way around?

Thank you for posting this information about Vitamin D. I am going to have my husband ask his family doctor to check this when he does his annual blood work. Good to know.
Be well!

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - Parkinson's itself increases the risk of skin cancer. My husband gets checked by a dermatologist twice a year since he has had several squamous cancers.
