Carrol, that is a great question and has a complicate answer. As you know, there is no formula for finding the best med, dose and timing for everyone with PD and no blood test to measure the med in your blood stream as there is for diseases like diabetes. Tremors are also complicated as they are affected sleep quality, diet, timing of taking meds and protein in your diet and anxiety. I helped my doctor figure dosing and timing of my meds by keeping track of these various factors and the severity of my tremors. It took a while but I am tremor free most of the time and when the tremors return, the first thing I do is check my mood and stress level. I have a direct correlation between stress and depression and tremors and my doctor and the literature agrees with this. So, before I change anything about my meds, I practice things like control breathing and guided imagery and work on reducing any depression I am experiencing and this often resolves my tremors. I also worked with a psychiatrist for 10 months to find the best anti-depressent and anti-anxiety med for me. I had to be persistent and hopeful but with all of this said, my answer is that I have found that my tremors have stopped.
Thank you for your great question. Please keep us posted on your journey.

- Pramipexole: This is a dopamine agonist that makes brain cells more receptive to dopamine, helping to reduce symptoms like tremors.
- Effectiveness: Most medications, including pramipexole, typically dampen symptoms rather than eliminate them entirely.
- Other Medications: [[treatment:Levodopa/Carbidopa:55d534f51fcaa397470006dd]] is often considered the most effective drug for treating Parkinson's symptoms, but it also may not completely stop tremors.

It's important to discuss with your doctor if your current medication isn't providing sufficient relief.
