I believe you’re describing dysphasia. I’m always getting dysed so I get confused but I have choked. I eat small amounts of soft foods, but speech therapy is often recommended by your doctor to strengthen the muscles of the throat and esophagus.

Hi. My mother was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia before Parkinson's but what you are describing is exactly what she goes through many times. She seems to get worse at night and I have to remind her to take smaller bites and to chew her food thoroughly so she doesn't aspirate it. But I am going to mention this to her doc next time. Hope you get the answers and help you need! Hang in there. And thanks for sharing your question.
