Does Anyone Who Takes Levodopa Have Severe Nighttime Leg Cramps?
I take prescribed prima pixel for leg cramps and shaking it works wonderful for me now no problems.
Try magnesium at bedtime. Talk to your neurologist about it.
Maybe try compression stockings during the day.
We also have the beds that lift the head and foot area. That helps
One of the best things Ivr found for leg cramps is quinine water. Get Schweppes tonic water. It has quinine in it and tastes a little like grapefruit juice. I drink it straight from the bottle and found that it helps leg cramps. Also point & flex your toes. Lift your heel and point your toes down. It seems to help if the cramp isn't too bad. Also try potassium. Lots of it in bananas, raisins, & potatoes. Check it out.
I was getting severe leg cramps at night, and the doctor put me on the controlled release C/L and taking that and doing big stretches first thing in the morning and last thing at night seem to have helped my muscle spasms. I still have them, but not nearly as as awful or often.
I also stretch before getting up and also when I go to bed. I think it helps in eliminating leg cramps. I do get them occasionally but not too severe and do not last long Try it and let me know if it helps. Have a great day.
