SBS Battery Replacement
Hi guys, i just went to my first battery replacement for my DBS. I did not let them put me to sleep I did it with a local, it was not painful at all and a very quick procedure. I'll charged up for four more years.
My questionHas anybody had the battery replaced in their DBS? and How long Did it take for the swelling and the soreness to stop?
DBS was done in 2016. Battery replaced after 5.5 years. The replacement battery was smaller, so much quicker recovery (initial surgery took months); after the replacement battery, I was out eating tacos with my son that night and back to boxing two days later.
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member I had DBS done as my medications were every three hours but only had an effective 90-minute window. 1600mg of levodopa daily, a delicate balance between hallucinations (fuzzy bunny rabbits) and being able to move. I still have to take my C/L but only 600mg daily—no hallucinations with the lower dose. Keep in mind DBS allows us to keep moving, but to delay progression; it is critical to keep working out. The walk is good, but a brisk 3-mile walk where you sweat on a cool day is better.
Unfortunately it it like the Timex watch it keeps on going I believe
there are now 5 stages to this horrid illness
Does PD ever stop progressing? or does it go through all the stages.
I had mine changed 5 years ago they put me to sleep as it was deep in my abdomen
I had no swelling it was sore
for 2weeks and I was

Which hospital did you get
Your DBS. Did you know if your charger is not working you can
Get one from the company you just ring up and they usually deliver in c2days but I got mine next day delivery I have. Had them if the wound is red / hot as well as the swelling and tenderness you should get medical advice as it may be infected
Ebben nincs tapasztalatom, szerencsémre én még nem tartok ott. Csak gyógyszeres kezelésem van, és sok mozgás.
