Numbness In My Feet
I was diagnosed with PD just before COVID hit. I had been developing a "hammer toe" prior to that.
In the last few months I have developed a numbing sensation just above the toes on one foot. Is it the PD or should I look for a foot doctor?
Yes, I experienced this condition in my right foot. I talked to neurologist, and she gave me some exercise tips. So, wiggle up, 10sec, hold foot down,10sec, roll around 10sec. Repeat three xs a day.
I have something similar. On both my feet the toes are numb and they feel like “fat little sausages”. It also feels like there is sand between the toes. They don’t hurt but the sensation is bothersome. I have asked numerous doctors about this problem but to date no one has been able to account for my condition. I was diagnosed with PD in October 2020. I was wondering if any of the readers of this forum have this problem with their feet. Thanks.
I'm just beginning my 6th year of PD. A year ago my toes began to curl. I sought help from a podiatrist who trims my nails and made a custom orthotic to wear between my toes. I soak my feet in warm water laced with Epsom Salt. I sometimes perceive my toes curl more and the pain is greater when I am anxious or stressed. One of my neurologist providers has diagnosed my condition as Dystonia. Another has said it is "just" Hammer Toes. I have tried massaging my legs and feet with magnesium oil. (Comes in a spray bottle.) I also wear support hose to help alleviate the neuropathy. I found some that zip up that are easier to put on. Those are my best tips. Good Luck. Karen
I have numbness in all my toes on both feet, started in 2020, then started gait and balance issues, then left side arm, leg weakened with tremors, then started shuffling feet with hunched over back. Voice softened, had swallowing issues. Muscle pain and spasms. After numerous doctors and tests was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 12/2022. I take Sinemet and Lyrica. All symptoms gone except toe numbness and muscle pain and spasms.
It's possible it could be neuropathy You should check with your neurologist and they'd be able to tell if that's what it is I have neuropathy in my legs and feet hands and and starting to get in my arms but I have a lot of spinal nerve damage also
