A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question šŸ’

Prior to DBS surgery I had lost about 15 pounds. Since the surgery (10 months) I have gained it all back and then some.

I'm encouraged by the fact that you've had 8 years with good results. Hoping that the doctor can make adjustments to give you some relief.

Thanks Karen, not what I wanted to hear. But I"m not surprised. I've spent the last year not paying attention to how much or when I eat, so time to buckle down and reduce my intake and try to keep the DBS 20 from becoming DBS 20+

Hi Suzann-
I watched many videos of people talking about their DBS surgery , before i had mine. I also have gained about 20 lbs. There were women in these videos who talked about the "DBS 20" . And as far as i can tell, it's only women who have this problem. Lucky Us! It's hard enough as we get older, to lose weight anyway. I have asked my doctor, and she really didn't have an answer for me. She's gotta be in her 30s, so what does she know? šŸ˜šŸ¤”
Sorry to say, but i believe it is TRUE. The DBS 20 is real.
I see my doctor this week, I'll ask her again.
Blessings and hugs, Karen
