I also like quiet times. I especially like to hear the sounds of the different birds we have and how they may change the songs they sing with the season. When it's quiet, I can relax and rest.

When your wondering if people know how you feel, there’s a very good chance they have no idea. We need to explain that to people. That’s a very hard thing to do. We have explain it to ourselves first. The best word I’ve been able to come up with is disconnected.

I used to be able to do many things at once. Now I’m lucky if I can do one. I spend most of my time alone. I can’t deal with world anymore. It stresses me out.

I do enjoy the quiet it enables you to hear the birds and laughter of children outside that noise covers up. As much as I enjoy the quiet, I really love silence. To be able to be silent and quiet your mind, letting your thoughts just float by like leaves on a flowing stream, not paying any attention to them. I think learning to not listen to all of the thoughts that constantly flow through our minds is very beneficial. Thoughts are the cause of our feelings, so, if our thoughts are allowed to go where they will
We can begin to go over and over things that someone said to us or memories of things that have hurt us or worry us and then we find ourself sad, anxious, fearful, worried, depressed, angry, resentful, hopeless, the “What Ifs”, or some other negativity. For those of us who have Parkinson’s this only leads to worsened symptoms. So I thought this might be worth mentioning. It’s something to consider. We all want to be the best we can be.
