Does Anyone Besides Me Thinkthere Is A Corilation Between Cancer And PD?

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭
Idahp Falls, Idaho

In 2007 I started noticing a tremor in my big toe of my right foot. I further had a pain in my left side. Neither one eased up for over 6 months. I had colon CA, and chemo thera[y for 9 months, I was dx with PD not DX till 2008.

Sorry not I, I have had cancer and still in remission and now PD and no similarities at all. One is an invasion of the body while the other is a breakdown of the nerve system.( Mostly a head issue)

My PD was toxin-induced. The more I read what Parkies write, the more I realize that most PD is caused by toxins. If a person Keeps drinking contaminated water, eating foods with harmful chemicals in them, and breathing contaminated air, the same toxins that damaged the brain & nerves can probably also cause cancer.

Hi Rosemary! Cancer is at least 100 or 200 different diseases so you can’t really generalize to all forms of cancer. However, you are correct that PD patients have been found to have an increased risk of developing melanoma.
BTW, there are researchers who believe that Parkinson’s Disease is not one disease but multiple different diseases so it gets complicated.
Take care.
