Do Others Have Hip And Knee Problems.

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

The pain from my knee and hip make it hard to get up and walk. I started using a cane around the house to help with my balance. Walking up any incline is painful. I'm not sure if the pain is from my parkinson's or if my hip and knee are just having problems. It seems to be getting worse,Would like to know if others are having similar problems.

I go to a chiropractor one a week. It helps to relieve the muscle cramps. A massage might help too.

I suggest you go see an orthopedic doctor. He can help determine if you need help with your hip and knees. I have had both knees and a hip replaced before I was diagnosed with Parkinson's. I currently am battling the other hip, which I have been told needs to be replaced, and expect to have surgery this fall. I am anxious to see what is actually arthritis and what are the effects from Parkinson's. Maybe therapy would help, or a massage. Good luck and I hope you get some relief.

I was interested in your knees; I had one replacement; the is going to the grave with me. I’m hopeful you don’t have MSA; I have had a dreadful year. I’m holding my own for the last 3 weeks, but that’s like saying since winter arrived the mosquitoes are gone. The mosquitoes go and blizzards arrive. I noticed on discharge papers from the last ER trip the diagnosis is autonomic failure. I could given them that diagnosis. Oh well, I’m still laughing, and that’s what I like. 🤗

This is a late posting to the question but may help some one. I have been going to pain management for 4 years. I have been able to postpone knee replacement surgery since getting Gelsym3 injections in my knees. One injection once a week x3. This has eliminated the severe pain and allowed me to be able to walk…pain free! I have had the radio frequency ablation several times with great results also in my spine/lumbar area and s-I joints. Pain management has came along way and many treatments are available besides pain pills. I hope everyone who is suffering with pain considers this to increase their quality of life! ❤️

Diagnosed 2o years ago with RA and a couple of months ago with Parkinsonism. It was suspected but not diagnosed. It is funny that all the time I had RA doctors wanted to relate any health issues on the RA. I too read that there is a higher percentage of RA causing PD and Osteoporosis. I am praying for you to get some relief from the injections and are able to get the ablation with great results! Hope you are having an awesome day! ❤️
