Is Age A Factor For Receiving A Trial Drug For PD?

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭
The Woodlands, TX

I am a 76 year old male with stage 1 PD. My medication is the Neuropro transdermal patch. My neurologist mentioned very interesting results with experimental trials using stem cells.
when I asked how I can be in these trials, and willing to sign any waiver, the response was that I am too old to be in the trials.

Are these trials or even access to trial drugs restricted due to age?????
