Difficulty climbing stairs with Parkinson’s can stem from balance issues, muscle stiffness, or slowness of movement (bradykinesia). To help, consider exercises to improve strength and balance, like sit-to-stand exercises or stepping side to side with support. Using a cane or walker may also provide stability. I agree, stairs are horrible!!!
I have been focusing on (re)strenghtening my lower body!! I went from being a very active person to this, but retraining is only helping a little!! (I'm a veteran, home improvement business owner/operator, over-the-road trucker ... doing crossfit all along and being addicted to running and hiking) I'm not completely sure if the nerves are damaged from some part of Parkinson's. I have been to several orthopedic physicians, chiropractor and acupuncture therapists, several mainstream and alternative healings with the most minimal results. I have had cortisone shots with no relief, several months of physical therapy and multiple yoga activities in person and online with minimal physical improvement!! I do get mental results that are keeping me focused on my goal to improve my condition and hopefully find ways to help the whole PD community 🙏✨️🙌💞 Best of luck with your journey and may we find answers to our pain!!!
