What Can I Do To Make It Easier To Use The Mouse On My Computer?

My index finger has so weakened that it makes it hard to double click the mouse quickly enough to open files. (I know you can right click to open the file a different way)

If I recall correctly on Windows there are settings for the mouse where you can slow down the doubleclick. If I get time today I'll see if I can find out exactly where they are. It has been a while since I have used them.

I found it! You just search for "mouse" under Settings. There are all these adjustments that you can make. It's much easier to use now. Here is what I got when I searched Google: To slow down the double-click speed on your mouse in Windows 10, go to Settings > Devices > Mouse > Additional mouse options and then on the "Buttons" tab, adjust the slider under "Double-click speed" towards "Slow" to decrease the sensitivity of double-clicking

Hi Susan. Have you tried a collar and lead ? Should find your mouse more useable and certainly easier to control.
Have a beautiful Saturday πŸ‘ 😁

I now have a touch-screen laptop which allows preference to mouse if you wish. I also am able to lower and or adjust arms bent at elbows and into my waist, or chest for more finger dexterity. Bringing laptop in closer is like holding your drinking glass closer to avoid tremors, or grip release spilling your drink, or dropping eating fork. This is not perfect but more of you in self control.............Q

I just got an iPad with a detachable keyboard because of the same reason you described, The iPhone keys were too small and I consistently hit the letter next to it, The dictation was of no help. I was able to sync the iPad with my iPhone .Still getting used to a full keyboard but happy I made the move.
