Are Neck Problems Common With Pd.? So Very Stiff, And Painful With Turning. It Eases With C/l But Always Returns.
You are totally on the mark regarding clonazepam, and other benzodiazepines. I should clarify for myself only, I have MSA-c, cannot take Sinemet, and my complicated diagnosis is fatal. I have been on clonazepam since 2016 without difficulty, though I have had 2 strokes causing expressive aphasia. My ace in the hole, if you will, is a sister who is a physician who helps me research and understand what I'm learning. With all the neurological disorders, which I mention only because I have been affected by them most of my life, research is essential, partly because of the effects of medications. My experience with treatment for a rare disorder is vastly different than others who may even have the same disorder but different symptoms. No drug is without the potential for peril. For me insulin is keeping me alive right now because my pancreas is failing. Most doctors don't realize this failure is anything but out of control diabetes. Anyone on high potency medications needs to know why they are taking them , the potential risks versus the hoped for positive results. As for medical personnel they would do well to understand the same including some research at times. We still must either advocate for ourselves, or have an advocate speak for us if we can't .

PD tries to pull us in towards the middle. Its number one target is the head. It activates muscles in the neck to push the head down towards the center of your body. It can also pull you to one side or the other.
Yes. I have neck pain. It is what it is. I was prescribed Clonazepam, & took it from 2004 thru 2020, 16 years. In September 29, 2020, I suffered a left hemiplegic stroke. When I woke up, three days later, I was paralyzed on my right side. Now, I didn't think about having Parkinson's, but now I knew I was in for the fight of my life. Shortly after my stroke, I realized that I was addicted to Clonazepam, it is a benzodiazepine. (Symptoms of Clonazepam are fatigue, dizziness, dyspepsia, ataxia, slurred speech, sedation). A couple of my doctors told me not to bother getting off, because it was too difficult. I knew the side effects, & they would prevent me from ever walking again. I asked Dr. Christine to admit to UC Davis. Yes, with a stroke, it took me 18 months to get Clonazepam. I know it provides you relief from anxiety, but I was changing my life. I needed to back to where I wanted to be so I took it all on, & today I walk without a cane. I do have to where a brace on my left leg, an ankle orthotics. I tried several, but I found my orthotics thru Insightful, Inc. In my new home, I changed the floors to hardwood, because I wanted them to be one level. I had to modify my trike, the pedals are special because of my orthotic. My stroke is now a part of my life, & that's okay, but Clonazepam is not. Anxiety, sure I have it, there has been an attitude change, & I love music. Life is good. I think I impressed my doctors, too.
This is what happened to me. I followed my prescription, 3 pills a day. I was on it for 16 years.
Excellent point, but let me add that if a doctor, in this case neurologist, who has been treating you for years, has prescribed clonazepam, a new provider esp a PA, darn well better check with the prescribing doctor for details before deciding to discontinue prescribing so a patient doesn't get addicted. I will stop there before my blood pressure goes up.

Clonazepam belongs to a class of medication Doctors get a lot of grief for prescribing. It doesn’t matter what side of the pond you are on, the treatment is the same.
Insurance companies have way too much power. Doctors should be able to prescribe what THEY feel is necessary. They have the degree.’
